Question High pitch squealing coming from dash?

This started happening yesterday and has continued today.

When I turn my car off completely (keys removed), I'm getting this high pitched squealing noise that sounds like it's coming from behind the climate / stereo area of the dash. Almost like what you would hear at a doctor's ear test but lower in frequency. It lasts for about 2 seconds, starts to "die off" for another second, and then it's gone.

Has anyone experienced something like this before?

BTW - I forgot my account is not permitted to have a signature (when is that allowed?). The Porsche is a 1986 944.
