Default High Beam Switch Not working Correctly

Hey guys I have a question, my high beams currently won't stay/go on unless I push on the switch hard. Seems like it's not making good contact when I engage them just by flipping the switch normally. Is there a way to fix this or should I just get another switch? I thought about maybe a loose connection between the switch and the plug but it seems more like inside the switch.

unfortunately you'll likely have to find another switch. Mine had a similar issue, and i replaced it with one from a parts car. No problem since...

Now, if you are just going to replace it - You might as well try to fix it first...

Not true, you can fix it. Take the unit off the colun and there is a tiny access hole. Watch how the contacts work and bend the contact that is not touching.

Mmmm interesting thanks for the input guys. I'll try and see if I can fix it if not then I will get another switch from Lart. Sadly I have to get ready for inspection next month or take it to my father in-law 3hrs away lol.

cyclone, I had the opposite problem. My high beams would come on when you hit a bump, breathed on, or looked at the switch. Everyone told me the same thing (replace, replace, replace). I said well nothing to loose but a little time and investigation. They are very repairable and very simple. As stated, take the steering wheel off, take the switch assembly off and then watch how it works as you push and pull the high beam stock and bend the appropriate tab. A lobster pick works well for this, as it is very tight.

I had a write up on this that I did about 9 years ago, if you feel like searching.
