86 Turbo early or late offset ? instal on 87 NA
I've come across a good deal on a set of front struts, spindles and brakes from a 86 turbo is this a good / easy swap onto a 87 NA (running 17" wheels to clear brakes)?

I messed about with the struts, spindles, brakes and offsets quite a bit, but I never tried this. However I cannot see why not. If you are swapping 86T struts, spindles and brakes to your 87 and keeping the 87 a-arms, everything should bolt together ok. The only things extra you need are a set of front brake lines and maybe a set of camber plates to get the camber back.

..also, if he has abs on that 87 he would lose that function.

The spindles/hubs are not what defines the early/late offset. If you measure the distance from disc to hub edge on a 86' & 87' setup it is exactly the same. The control arms being longer are what pushes everything out requiring the different offsets on the wheels. So the answer is yes you can bolt them up. The struts will even bolt up no problem but apparently you will lose a bit of camber. I will be putting 87' spindles/hubs on my 86' 951 and retaining the early offset configuration. If I wanted to go to the late offset as well (which I'm not) then I would change the control arms & tie rods.
Edit: There is some variation on 86' NA struts that I am not personally familiar with, but being that you have an 87' you will be fine.

Hey guy's. I have a 1986 951 Turbo early offset and A 1987 944 N/A late offset . I wanted to use my 1987 N/A's control arm's , rack & pinion with tie rod ends, Strut's, steel braid brake lines on my 1986 Turbo 951. I will then swap the parts back on to the 1987 n/a will inherit the 1986 951 turbo's control arm's , rack & pinion with tie rod ends, Strut's, steel braid brake lines. Will this be a complete bolt up?
additionally i will be take from the 1987 944 n/a's master cylinder, brake booster, slave cylinder and put it onto the 1986 turbo 951. I Will keep my portioning valve from the 1986 951 turbo to put on the swamped master cylinder.

There isn't enough adjustment on the stock camber eccentrics to correct this but you can workaround it by fitting camber plates.
