Default Looking for a rear euro bumper rubber strip....

hey
I am currently in the process of adding euro bumpers to my 924S........got the front on easy enuff......but when it comes to rear, unlike my beloved 89 944, I have run into a number of problems. The first being that apparently it doesn't mount as effortlessly - given that it seems to want to stick out way to much with the USA shocks. And the second is that the rubber strip that usually comes on the euro bumper needs to be replaced. Does anyone have one?

thanks

You need to use the euro rear bumper mounts to make it sit right. The US bumper shocks won't do it. However, there is a way to collapse the US shocks that may work for you, do a search, someone posted a DIY on this.

You can pick up the euro rear mounts on eBay.co.uk sometimes.

I have a used but good rear euro rubber strip, no nicks or chips, $60 + shipping. PM if interested.

The collapsed US mounts wont work IIRC.

and these should do it.

Doug is right -- the Euro bumper mounts have a much smaller hole for the bolts that hold the bumper (that auction doesn't seem to include the bolts).

A friend of mine got a rubber strip recently from Ian at 944Online.

I got my bumper irons sent to my door, from Ebay UK, for ~$30. It didn't include the bolts, but Lowes has them.

Everything is just to rusty in the UK ( I hear it rains a lot ), you really have to look over the pics very well. My rubber trim is fine, but the bolts/nuts all rusted through. I'm debating whether to find a whole new rubber piece, or just try to pry the bolts out of it, and replace those.
