Default FS SARATOGA GLASS TOP

Not mine but it sure seems like a good deal to me !
If my only 944 weren't a race car then I would buy the damn thing for myself.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Sarat...item1e65772e5d

Currently at $389.

Still a great deal for someone with a manual top. When I was looking for one of these I couldn't find one for under $1000. and even then it was hard to find !

I've heard of people putting these on power top cars as well although I am not sure how they would latch/lock the rear ones.

On the early cars it's easy as snapping into place.

I thought all saratoga tops were manual. I know u can convert a power top to manual very easily.

Great price for one of these. I'm more a fan of the sunroof delete, but you can't exactly bolt that on...

No, there are two main versions - bronze tint/frameless and grey tint/black framed. Then manual or power. I have the latter, power version as I felt it was the best looking with my Guards/Linen N/A.

So can the manual roof be easily adapted to work on a power roof car?

I used a manual Saratoga on my 86 951 after converting my electrics to manual use. To use that top on an electric SR you would have to pull the lifting arms out of the guide boxes and stuff them to the side. The manual Saratoga Tops seal very well compared to the electric versions that tend to lift and whistle at higher speeds on many cars. The problem with the manuals is the top is either 'down' or 'out'; no means to tilt like a OE manual SR.

You know alot of people have said this and I have never had my roof whistle at any speed low or high. I get a little bit of "rattle/rub" noise from the roof vibrating in place when closed, but the fit and noise are no different from what I got with the stock top.
