Talking New S2

After years of wanting an S2, and months of patiently waiting for just the right 944 to show up in the Seattle area, I flew to Spokane, purchased this car and drove it back today. It's a 1989 with 150k on the clock. Originally owned in the Seattle area by a Derek Hunter (according to the records), it went to Spokane about 8 years ago, and the current owner had it for about 3. It has records back to 1996 from Barrier, Paul Weir, and Autowerks Northwest. Chain and was done at 105k, clutch and belt at 125k. All original, and my plain is to pretty much keep it that way, except for updated shocks. I love the D90s, I'll keep them as-is, even if they look dated. Guards would not have been my first color choice, but the car is in such great shape I decided that was more important than finding a perfect color.

The sunroof is weird, motor runs but only one latch moves. I really really don't want to deal with taking apart the mechanism to fix that, I've done that before and it was misery. Other than that, it's in nice shape.

I was nervous about the 280 mile drive back to Seattle with a new car through 95+ degree weather today, but it was rock solid and cool the whole time.

Welcome ,rare find you can tell the car has been well kept and agree that you should leave it stock.

Looks good! You can tell the Coolant Reservoir has been changed because the plastic doesn't have that brown colour that the 20 year old ones do. You can bet that if someone went to the trouble of changing that then they have also maintained the rest of it pretty well.

Happy driving

Nice! Welcome to the S2 fold !

Keep an eye on the belt...even though it's only got 25k on it....if those miles were over the course of 5 years or so then you may want to get it changed.

Enjoy !!!
