no sir, it's not. and it's no accident that we have the sleepiest forum on rennlist and the entire Porsche world.
(the only sleepier forum is the Carrera GT page).

hopefully not too much. mostly i just wanted to show off my new avatar (Jaime Hammer). i was watching the ALMS live from New Jersey on SPEED. as now, soon as the RedSox make their escape from this wild Wakefield day (he just gave up a grand slam), i'll be heading outside to work on shaping the passenger side duct. it's finally cool enough to work with the polyester resin and bondo mix. just have to put on some bug spray after the sun sets.
i think all 944 n/a's are good. unfortunately, some of the wiring seems to deteriorate after 20 years.... as can be expected, and some cars might benefit from replacing as much of it as possible. and of course, bypass those rotting alarms. but the turbos are are of course, more sticky.

I dont think it that bad. Add this 944 Forum and the other 944 Model Specific Tech and you have 1.8 million views. Almost equals OT!
Take away Hit It from OT, and posts either about Bush, or Obama, and this is way out in the distance ahead.
And now this thread has Hammer time !

not sure what she's doing now, but we had a few friendly email exchanges in the mid 2000s, and after that, she started hanging out at Hef's place a lot... when she was about 20, her breasts were one of the most shocking freaks of nature you could ever hope to see in person. 32d/dd which is fairly amazing for a girl who only stands about 4' 11" tall. for some reason back in the day, her face was good deal prettier than now. in recent years, her ***** shrunk considerably (as you can see from my avatar photo) after beginning the nude model thing.

Further, I have just spent several hours thoroughly reviewing ALL of her web content... instead of worrying about what to fix next on my car...
you guys have some nerve.

Hello all,
What are opinions on the years off the 944? Is there a better year than others?
Reason I ask- I found a 86 turbo with 155k miles, in really good shape, but no paperwork to prove anything. seems to run really well, and clean carfax.
I also am looking at an 83 with 100k in miles... paperwork to prove most things, but the inside is in really rough shape. but the price is 1/3 of the 86...
I read things online that the 85.5 and after years are the better years... thoughts?
I'm still trying to find my first Porsche 944! Got my wife to agree and everything!
Thanks.

Then, as someone mentioned, do you want "luxuries" like
1) ABS
2) Airbags
If you want those, the easiest to find are S2 and 968. Turbos, 87+ also had them. They can be harder to find on an S and I've yet to find a pre '89 base model with either of these (but they might be out there)
Then, make sure its got a papertrail. Given the age, TWO components of concern since you live in a city are
1) Clutch
2) WORKING, cold AC
#2 alone should remove the pre 85.2 cars since the older dash and HVAC system tend to not cool the car as well as the later ones.
Clutch replacement, by a shop, is a $1500-2000 proposition. Given that you can find a nice car for not much more, be careful where you start your search.
Water Pump/Timing belt maintenance.. many would suggest a 3-4 year interval for a "regular use" car. If not handy, or no space/friends, this too is likely a $1500 shop repair.
Just cause these cars CAN be dirt cheap to buy, doesn't make them cheap to maintain.
To me, ALL 944s are $10K cars..
Price and ease to find not withstanding, the S2 would be a first choice, then 968 (to me its a style thing) given their modern performance (210-240hp) and amenities (abs, airbags, newer dash, better brakes/suspension)
