Default Test ac expansion valve

Can't find this part anywhere. Except at unspecified time later.

Can I test this? Heat the coil and it closes? Opens? Cool it? Don't know..

I had no pressure while engine was running on high side of gauge set.

Someone said expansion valve. Removed it. I can blow through it now. Don't know if it is bad or good? Did it clean up after removal?

Any help here. I am converting 86 944 na. Compressor seems to work. Just not cooling at all

Unless its plugged, 99% chance its fine.

With no pressure on the high side, you should have had very high pressure on the low side. If that isn't the case, you prob have a stuck schrader valve on the high side.... or the gauge hose is plugged...or the gauge is bad.

Thanks for the tip re: the part..

On the second re: readings and schrader valve... I did check the manifold set on another car. Worked fine...

My reading with car running was low side 70, high side 0...
btw, what schrader valve? on gauges? or you mean the high side fitting itself? I did get a reading of about 70 on both high and low before starting car.

I had blown most of the other hoses clean,(I think). but did not mess with the ones coming and going to evaporator. Didn't want to cause more work..

I'm thinking, which is dangerous, that if I clean all lines well, and reassemble, it just might work.

I won't get parts now till next week anyway, and I might as well see if it was just gunked up, we will see. If I can't get it working then I'll order the part over the weekend.
