By all means go to a Dr. ASAP, whiplash sneaks up on you a day or two later.

I'd be careful stripping anything after they appraise it, it could be construed as an intent to defraud, unless you put the stock parts back on. Theoretically you could take the whole engine out, right? If they are selling it as price/lb to a crusher, you can buy the car back for that and strip to heart's content. More likely they are going to get more than scrap price from a boneyard. They would notice an incomplete vehicle pretty quickly.

Well an adjuster won't see it for a few days, so I have some time to reinstall all my stock parts.

What's the ballpark they should be offering me?

And how much would it cost to get it pulled? I assume a lot.

Sorry to hear about your car. I thought it looked to be the same color as mine. What color interior do you have? I'm sorry to hear about he accident. That sucks. I know I would be heart broken.

Glad you are OK and I would see what can be done with the car without totaling it out. After having my son's 944S hit twice in the rear at 10-15 I would say that is way over 10-15 mph. I would guess 20-25 from the straight on damage you show. If you are experiencing 'ANY' pain you need to see a doc immediately before their insurance company tries to get you to settle. My oldest son is still dealing with back injuries from a rear end hit over 8 years ago that he blew off because he thought it was nothing at the time.

I had a 951 stolen and it was bitch getting more thank $5k out of them. Ultimately got $9,000 which the car was worth. Yours should be able to fetch $12,000 from them with the stock parts.

Ensure you have all records. Call or research every one of the comps they give you. Several of the comparable cars they gave me as reasons for their values had had salvage titles, or engine fires, or triple the miles.

Go through appraisers report with a fine tooth comb. Mine said my gearbox was worn? They had no proof, never opened it up.

Etc, etc, Hope you have another car because time is your friend. If the insurance feels you need to settle fast they will have the upper hand.

Well we'll see how it all goes. If it's cheap to buy back I might do that, then part the rest of the car out. Very good condition interior, low mileage motor, etc. Either way, I'm the loser in this situation.

If any Houston area 'listers have an extra set of wheels I could mount on the car, like phone dials or cookie cutters or something, please get in contact with me. I'm certain the Fuch's won't be properly valued by the insurance company.

I just got 3700 from usaa for my 924s with 160k on it and 6 out of 10 paint/body, i bought it back for 550. Its worth buying back if your going to part it. They were actually pretty nice to deal with, that said i was very proactive about getting in touch with them and contacting them when they said something was going to happen in the process. They stated that it actually helped that i did that, as i made it easier for them to work with me. I was also nice to them even though it was their customer that destroyed my car. Good luck, Im sorry to see another car get rearended. Definately get checked out by your doc, i was lucky all my xrays and such came back ok, I got lucky that my car got hit with a glancing blow (she swerved at the last second).

Well I went to the ER, and got Xrays. No broken bones. They told me to expect the pain to last for up to a week.

Going to put the stock turbo back in tomorrow, and try to put the stock AFM back in, although last time I tried it, the car wouldn't stay running. I haven't made arrangements with the insurance to get an adjuster out to see it, but they'll probably be coming sometime next week I would guess.

I'm sure they'll also try to get me to sign a injury wavier, but I'm going to hold off on that.

Any other advice?

I got rear-ended in a big truck Silverado at about the same speed, it didn't have headrests. Xrays are useless for assessing the damage, they only show if something is broken. Oddly enough, the thing that hurt almost as much as my neck was my left knee; don't know why, but I'd never had trouble with it before. It would take an MRI to assess damage in that. My advice, don't sign a waiver for at least a month, if you can wait, and only then if you are truly 100%.

I wouldn't worry about the car not running any more, it must be damaged from the accident, right?

Hmm, well hopefully my pain is nothing serious. But I'm sure it won't be fun waking up tomorrow.

And yeah, I'm not too worried about it not running. My gas tank is actually full of E85... probably should drain that just in case I buy the car back and decide to transfer my parts to a roller... pretty sure starting the car with E85 and stock chips/AFM/injectors will make it super lean and screw things up, right?

So sorry man -- but glad you are ok. Just nothing you can do about that -- happened to me once too. Bummer. Go to the doctor though--better safe than sorry....
