Default problem with the sunroof

first time posting here. I spend most of my time on Audi's Quattroworld.
Finally pulled my 87 Burgundy 944s out of moth *****.It had alot of driver comfort issues. One of them was an inoperative sunroof. A bad wire to the micro switch by the visors was the culprit . Now the roof open when the car moves. I know it is designed to do that under certian conditions, but dont know why. Is this an adjustment issue??

Thanx
Michael

Explain this part a bit better:
Now the roof open when the car moves.
Once we get terminology out of the way, the operation, maintenance/repair and adjustment of the roof is actually simple and straightforward.

The sunroof opens without being asked to do so as soon as the car starts to move foward or in reverse with the ignition on or the engine running. It lifts to full open

We have major problems (aren't all electrical problems major?).

Start with taking the lift switch out of console on checking it's operation. Let us know what you find there (while there, I'd also check the remainder of the components, especially if the switch checks out OK). http://www.clarks-garage.com/pdf-manual/elect-18.pdf

I'd also look into how the front micro-switch wire was repaired.

Smirking.......I had a similar issue.....before you tear the switches apart.....make sure the sunroof is properly seated...I was taking the fuse out for about a week until I took the sunroof out and noticed it was seated incorrectly......I took my time and put it back in carefully..put the fuse back in...and the issue went away.

It is worth a try before you start going thru the electrics.......just MHO.
