Great...thought my system was good now I think it needs repair grrr...I will be following this thread to see how it gets resolved.

The gauge starts off around halfway between 12-14 V and then gradually goes down to 12 V as per the gauge. Maybe a bad ground on the instrument cluster?

Maybe. Or maybe a bad gauge.

That's assuming you've put a meter on the charging system to figure out if that is actually happening or not along with the gauge reading.

If YouTube ever finished rotating it, here's one I just took with three different meters on my car. Two digitals, and one analog. They are all dead stable, and all read the same thing (within reason of their calibration, which all are due for). None of them are cheapos, so your mileage may vary. But this is what a working charging system should look like.

Default Low voltage new battery "new" alternator clean grounds

I was having low voltage out of nowhere i started cleaning all conections then took a look under fuse box 2 wires had shead there skin and were touching separated and electric taped them and now its 13v plus use to be 12.5 max n low... Hope this helps someone...
