Looks like a very clean early car, however not my taste. I would think $4000 ish, he has a good bit of money in it obviously and I like the euro bumpers etc.

Lotsa rice. I'm from the south, we tend to put gravy on our rice. Then again, I'm probably a lot older than you, so while seeing "944 racing" on the inner door panels may not work for me, it may not be as puke worthy to you.

If you like that kind of car & it's ugrades I say buy it remember it's your money .Agree with the 4000ish figures if the car has no issues. That someone like it or not he has lot of money invested in it & $3.5 to 4K & I think it will be a fair offer. The least he could do before you buy is to replace the expension tank it does look real bad & crummy.

Thanks guys, please keep it coming. Considering buying the car for my son. Its a 4 cylinder so not too much hp. Has non fucutional a/c. Clutch feels real good, brakes well etc. No major mechanical issues that I can tell.

What are some of the things I should ask? TB etc...

Agree with everyone else, not really tastefull mods but if you like it thats what's important.
I would like to ad that those are not just euro bumpers , it is a euro 944 ,notice no US side lights and the euro front wings. That means it has 163 bhp and since it's an '83 it should also have forged rods .

It seems to have a serious exhaust leak and the valve train is very noisy. I am always apprehensive about buying any car with all those pretty gee-gaws and jimcrack go fast parts but that's just me. The interior is pretty nice, has a good sound system, manual windows, and seems clean. I paid $2500 for my 83 in 2003 and it was spotless but needed a clutch within a year due to a teenage driver I won't name. I think an 83 is worth more as a stocker. Out here $4K would be at least $1K too high IMO, maybe your area is different. Nice car though.

Your right the PO was in the Army and bought and upgraded the car if you will in Germany.....

I don't care much for the mods myself...but...for 3700 I think its fair.... What are your thoughts

If the AC is an easy fix i say 3700 is about right. For your son that would be a nice car if he likes the vehicle and mods. Personally its a little much for me.

I have an 928 and I want to move up the 928 ladder and give him mine. But he likes the 944s and its only a 4 cylinder.
