Default A/C O-rings

It's bloody hot so I figure it's time to get some A/C in the car. Not quite the 134 of last summer but I do get cranky. I have a used compressor and a new drier and a new expansion valve. I'm going to go with R134.

1. Is it possible to replace the shaft seal on the used compressor.

2. Where are all the o-rings located? I'm going to replace all those with green o-rings.

2 o-rings at the compressor, 2 at the condenser, 2 at the receiver drier, and 2 at the firewall.. FWIW, Harbor freight sells a combo box full of em for about $8.. more than enough to do the 3 cars I have done with em!

Thanks. I work at an autoparts store so I'll just pick up a pack there.

Any idea about the shaft seal?

Not sure, and with the pricing of the 134 these days, not sure it is something I really want to have to do over...

Some of the lines at the fire wall can be difficult to replace. Buy a small bottle of ESTER OIL to lightly coat the seals while installing. Use some Brake Cleaner on a rag to clean the line ends prior to installing the new seals. I don't know about the compressor shaft seal. You might ask around at the store you work for if anyone knows someone who does it on the side.

Cheers,
Larry

Wes let me know how the compressor install goes. I am going to be doing the same at some point if I ever get my car out of the garage again.
