is it bad to chirp second gear? i know about the negitive effects of launching in these cars. and i chirp 2nd gear all the time. is it bad for the drive train?

It's bad to chirp gear. Buy a second tranny for when your ring gear goes boom!

okay well im already on my second i thought burning out would be cool... it was for like 3 seconds then my carrier exploded...

+1___LOL some guys like to make life miserable for themself,nobody will make me beleive that they enjoy changing tranny on any 944s.

Remember your car will be slow in a straight line no matter how you drive it, so enjoy it while its running. If you want a "fast" car go buy a ragged out firebird for 3 grand.

they do suck, there fuzion hpi? but the only thing worse then changing a 944 tranny is blowing a timing belt, finding the time between high school and work to rebuild the head, the having to do it all over again because i didn't set the timing on the cam tower when i reinstalled it and bent 2 more valves. but ya live and you learn! but you are right about the slow car, my jeep was almost *** fast as this, and it was ragged out!
