Default Temperature Gauge Issues

Hi Everyone,
This has to be a know problem as it is just "wonky". Replaced the hoses, stat and bleed the system. The fans work properly and the radiator has proper flow. Temperature gauge works well most of the time. The temp is shown in the middle of the scale. Especially when there is heavy mosture present. But once in a while the gauge is erratic. Bounces around and then acts normal...repeat!!
Until I turn the headlights on....WOW!!! This sounds like a ground issue. Rock solid in the middle of the gauge. Any thoughts on where the poor ground might be? Would it be GPIII, GP IV, GP V, GP VI or????

Bellhousing ground, you need one.

Martini car in my avatar had similar issue, made some new battery / ground / power cables, issue fixed!
