You are correct. But you will likely get fuel all over them when installing, and then it will become a mess comprised of parts of injectors with paint washed away and that paint on your fingers, block, fuel rail, hoses, you name it.

If the car is yours than it might not be a problem, if you are rebuilding for customer, just use fuelproof paint. Trust me, you dont want customers cursing you with painted fingers and engine bays.

Btw: there are much better cleaning agents for this job than fuel additives.

Can you recommend anything in particular for a cleaning agent?

I think I was just going to use carburetor cleaner, which if I recall correctly, is what was mentioned in the Pelican article linked to as inspiration in the first post.

But if you have a better idea, I'm open to suggestion...

What's a source for that? I can find lots of places that use Asnu machines, but if can't find anyplace selling the fluid.

Ask at those places, they will tell you who supplies it to them. It is expensive, but this thing really does what it is supposed to do, I couldn't believe how much crap comes from only one set of old injectors.

I also use industrial timer to cycle them. Here they are cycling at 0.05 seconds..
