Default Side mirror question

hey all, the plastic ring that hold in mirror in place on my passenger side 944 turbo 96 broke. So the mirror is all floppy. I tried superglue with no result. Then I pressed to hard on the mirror itself to try to make hold in place and I broke the mirror in two : )

Does anybody know if the motor unit set from an 944 1984 will fit?

thanks

I believe the design of the early 944 mirrors are different than the late 944s. The early ones don't have the plastic ring or anything like that. They just pull straight out and slip straight in with pegs.

I don't know how much Porsche sells the mirror glass for, but you can have a local glass shop cut you a mirror by hand and it will probably be cheaper. My dad owns a glass shop so he's made me a few mirrors before...
