Cooling issue -- 1992 968

I was in throw parts mode at it when I was trying to get this under control and the cables I did to fix the voltage issue were what finally got the temp gauge right. I did not follow my own advice to see if it was actually running hot for long while and so I now have a nice 4 year old cooling system and lots of 4 year old sensors installed.
Trust me, I know.. first is verify what you are seeing on the gauges, remember the youngest gauge in any of these cars is now 16 years old.. (with some minor exceptions)
verify the gauge reading, if it is off, track down WHY it is off..
quick way to validate your grounds?? Jumper cable between the upper engine lift eye and the batery negative terminal.. had a local car with an intermittant no start (starter acted like battery was dead).. jumper cable had her fire right up.. no jumper, no start..
That car now has brand spanking new cables, which fixed all sorts of other odd isues which had been there since he bought the car, to the extent he didnt know they were wrong, until they were right!
