i am getting married on August 27 and my fiancee and i are debating a road trip to chicago for our honeymoon. we would probably plan on staying in the downtown chicago area for several days and rely on walking or public transportation.

is there anyone in the chicago area that could spare some driveway space for my porsche for a few days?

....you're driving to chicago (from where?) if you're going to stay in the loop, there's plenty transportation from either airports. just saying...u could do w/o road tripping it over here

married in st paul
drive to madison WI (cycling expo)
drive to chicago IL (jazz festival)
drive to davenport IA
drive to pella IA (home)

we both like the idea of the road trip in the 924. one of my relatives did a road trip honeymoon (in his all go no show 89 mustang). they both said it was a blast.

I live about an hour west of downtown Chicago. I you decide to drive here you can stuff your car in my garage when you honeymoon downtown. It will be in great company. Chicago is a great place with tons to do. You won't regret it.

she doesnt need to consume a garage stall but i dont like the idea of a public lot.

yea i'm about 40min. but my place isn't very convenient for public transportation. metra rail station is like 20minutes by car. taxi to loop is prob about $40.

my other house is sitting vacant garage and would be good...but that's even farther away about 1hr also

and there's no way it's getting in the garage. way to messy.

Also about an hour west of downtown. About 20 minutes to Metra station. But can offer driveway space if needed.

Agreed. I'm game if someone wants to set it up. I tried setting up a GTG 2 years ago and 3 people showed up.

There is a Chicago euro board called Euroteknik that I think still does weekly meets in Schaumburg. Mostly BMW guys but a good group. We could probably piggyback on to their meet...

Congrats Casey!!! If none of the stuff above works out, my roommate (and fellow porsche fanatic) lives in downers grove and has a huge driveway (full of p-cars). Let me know if you need it, and I will talk to him.

A Chicago get together would be SICK!!! I love those tollways at 2am. I was just there this weekend with my 924s and it was a great drive.

Congratulations! That sounds like an exciting trip! I would help but you would be in worse shape since I'm 2 and a half to 3 good long hours down I-57 from Chicago. Definitely a great place to spend some time though, have fun!
I would even come to a meet in Chicago and I live in Champaign... Someone should set something up!
