Default Door handle issue

So my drivers door is extremely difficult to open. You have to depress the lever all the way into the door handle, then press some more and pull.

I assume this means my door handle is about to break, but is it that something is out of adjustment instead?

Any help would be appreciated before I go off and either buy 968 door handles or a new drivers door handle from Sunset.

TIA!

You can probably adjust it to be easier to open. But the plastic clips that thread on the inside of the handle break pretty easily when they get old. If you search on here or look on Clark's garage you will find directions for how to fix and adjust the handles.
