Quick Review: I received one of Robs (xschop) short shifters a few weeks ago, fitted and tested this weekend. I have tried many in the past from the cheapo eBay ones to brand names such as Schnell. The one xschop makes is extremely well made, an engineering work of art compared to anything else I tried. I have roughly 200m on it now and am very happy. It tightens everything up and works like a dream. Where 1-2 shifts were always poor, they are now crisp and precise.

He tells me he will be making some more soon, my opinion-don't waste your money on anything else.

Thanks Rob

xschop,

is it true that you will be making some more shift kits?

Where does the line start?

You would still have to machine a new trans throw lever and custom heim spacers, then chop and lengthen the lateral throw arm

I finally installed Xschop shifter kit, I have autocrossed this car for 10+ years now and boy did I ever need this kit before!, my goal before was limited by a mod to the shifter in the cockpit with somewhat limited improvement but after installing this kit it truly feels linear and short! is the word, have to get used to it by means of not over pulling its shorter limits and thats it, simple , quick and snappy on the gears, there is somewhat a small adjustability where the stud and nut that bolt on the static horizontal arm over on top, there is a notch that can help on centering its balance for the shifter "feel" I would call it but you may experiment different positions to suit your preference.

My car also has the Lexus caliper brackets (from Xschop) and it stops on a dime with no emergent effort on the brake pedal , just a relaxed calculated almost foot ABS like braking sensation or control. Still have to increase the rear bias by means of an adjustable proportioning valve for more control.

951 has many upgrades and customization on suspension and on some hardware and controls, and most from Lindsey racing upgrades to bring up HP past 450hp at 15 PSI of boost. would put out more but don't want to blow it, it is built solid by me inside and out, also made it none interfearance engine on top to help on peace of mind for when reving it above 7k! It is a blast to drive... I have spent a lot of money in this car and time so far it meets the reason of having spent that much on it, Cause it will outrun and out manouver most anything factory performance out there hands down, and a lot of so called sleepers or tuners. AND I ALWAYS DRIVE THIS CAR HARD! on the road if not ask Xschop on a time I got a speeding ticket for going 30 to 97mph on and onramp on britton to broadway ext. in less than 3.5 seconds. Ouch! cop was kind though and I think he liked the car.

I think anyone with perfomance vision should get one of these kits at that price! its a no brainer!

Default 2.8 ltr turbo'ed engine!

forgot to add that the engine is a built porsche motor off an 89 2.7 ltr engine. but speciffically to suit my custom driven habits at performance rated loads and demands with limited if not little intervention mechanical repair. after loading up the engine finally getting everything right engine has taken a lot of punishment without failures and going strong.

You guys can re-use your factory set screws, just use a little Blue Loc-tite on the threads... I crawled under my car and did the swap in 15-20 minutes tops.

Any progress on a unit for the 968?

If someone sends me the entire rear linkage, I will design one. The lateral arm is strange looking and has to be mic'd in relation to forward throw etc...

I just installed Xschop's SSK this weekend. Easy installation and got rid of all the slop in my shifter.
