Default 15" fuchs on '86 944 - need tire help

I've been searching around here for a bit now but haven't come across the info I'm looking for. I hope someone can help me out.

I currently have a N/A 1986 944 with 15" fuchs and stock suspension:
front: 7Jx15 911.361.020
rear: 8Jx15 911.361.020

I'm looking for the widest I can go without any rubbing. From what I get, the fronts can take 225/50/15. However, can the rears take a 245/50/15 tire?

I'm hoping to get them ordered tonight and put on by Tues for an upcoming PCA DE class.

Not necessarily a track tire since I'll be driving it to the events, but a UHP summer which seem to be more abundant in xxx/50-15.

The ones you mentioned will fit without rubbing but i see it difficult to find 245/50/15 ,not much selection out there.
Also i would suggest you go with 55 sidewall in the front if you go with 50 rear sidewall to balance out overall diameter.
Another option is to go 225/50/15 all round ,they will give best handling out of your car, very recommended size by all who track their 944's .

I see, thanks. Looks like my decision is made by available tire selection.
