Default Replacing water pump, belts and shaft seals on a 944 S2

Hi,

the video gives a tutorial, how to replace the water pump, all belts and the shaft seals on a Porsche 944 S2. The work is done at a S2, but a lot of steps are the same for other models.

The video has a German soundtrack, but English subtitles are available on YouTube. Just press the "cc"-button.

Best regards,

Great vid. Thanks!

I'm just in the process of doing a belt(s) and oil pump drive gear or what Porsche officially calls the oil pump sleeve. Ordered the sleeve and seals from Porsche dealer and they ordered from USA and in the little "porsche" labeled box I found 2 sleeves all sealed up with same part numbers, etc.

Not lovin it so far. Took me ages just to finally lock the flywheel on TDC. Too concerned with being off a tooth I suppose.

Need that German fellow as a neighbour. He didn't seem too concerned with belt tensioning. I've got Bruce's tensioning kit. I'm not getting a feel for this yet. Re-assembly is gonna be tricky. Short memory. I'm thinking lots of pics while I go.

This may be a lame question: But can one transfer a U TUBE video over to one's hard drive.

Hi,

at the S2, the timing belt has an automatic tensioner. You may need the tensioning kit for the belt of the balance shafts. But the resistance of the balance shafts is quite low and the tension of the belt is not very critical. You must keep in mind, the tension is much less than for an ordinary timing belt. In principle the tension is okay, when the belt makes no sound anymore.

Best regards to Ontario, I was once in Sudbury,

Jürgen
