Default Painting Gauge Bezels

Hey All,

Does anyone have experience painting aluminum gauge bezels black/graphite?

I just picked up a new set of Prosport Amber/white gauges and I'm entertaining the idea of changing the color of the aluminum bezels. My whole interior is black and the three aluminum rings stick out too much.

Thanks,
Dan

^^ If you want to tackle aluminum painting you'll need this "Dupli-color Metalcast Anodized Surface Colour System" it does come in a varities of colors.Parts prep is simple ,it should be extra clean with no surface smear, shooting is done approx 8" from the object in fine layers-let dry at least 20 mins between each shooting. Once the last coat is done & you have reach the desired hue let dry overnigth before installing.11oz can run about 7 to $8.00.Exemple of my 968 aluminum spark-plugs shroud & rad cap which has been shoot with that paint.I've also painted lots of small parts such as bolts/nuts/screw head ect & they came out good ,it's a very tougth paint when properly dry & don't chip easily.

That's the exact stuff I was looking at! I just wasn't sure if it would get dark enough. I guess the more coats the darker it will get.

BTW Very nice engine bay. No amount of paint would make mine look that nice.

Yes like I said you keep on shooting thin layer at the time, when you think you have the desired hue or shade stop & let it dry let say for about 12 hours. Not 100% sure but I think they have the black color paint to.
