Just wanted to say fair play to GermanAutoParts.com...

Good morning John,
Thank you for your recent order. I wanted to let you know while processing your order, we noticed that you had been charged sales tax in error. I reviewed your customer file, and noticed there had been two other instances this had happened and refunded all of the sales tax that was charged to you in error. I'm sorry for any inconvenience. Your account has been refunded $26.84.

Have a great rest of the week.
Now that's proper customer service.

I've never heard of them so I went and checked them out... prices seem very high. Did you get a deal on something?

I didn't get a deal, just paid their normal prices. I paid $80 for a full set of brake pads. Didn't see them cheaper anywhere else, although I didn't check too many places. I'm used to dealing with these guys for my Audi.

Was there anything in particular that seemed more expensive than usual to you?

Last time I checked with GAP, their prices were about the same as Pelican, but that was a couple months ago. I typically use 944online, Paragon, or Vertex. When I was doing my WP/TB job, I checked GAP, and they were pretty pricey compared to other places.

prices are very high at all vendors because of the failing dollar.

so everytime you go to buy parts....

but if you shop around at the same 5 vendors i mentioned, you'll always win.

many people also like Pelican and Vertex.

I had really good results with vertex customer service on my 85 I used to have. The PO bought a starter and alternator from them andit wasn't charging. And after 2 alternators and they upgraded me from a domestic rebuild to a Bosch rebuild, I took it to a shop and the PO connect the cable to the starter wrong or something ans they system wasn't charging.

I really love those guys at Vertex. Many times I didn't have to pay shipping and when something wasn't exactly right, for whatever reason, it was cleared up quickly and politely. Prices are generally lower than most and I always give them 1st shot when I'm looking. Very knowledgeable too.
