Default looking for threads on rod bearing R&R

I'm looking for info on rod bearing wear using plastiguage and where to get proper replacement bearings assuming standards won't do the job. I can't seem to find what's acceptable clearance data either.

Unless you've spun a bearing and had the crank re-ground, plan on using standard bearings. I've never heard of anyone needing undersized bearings due to crank wear. This includes speaking to Porsche mechanics with far more experience than myself. If you want peace of mind go ahead and measure first, but chances are almost certain that you won't find any significant wear.

Did you try doing a search? STFA, in the 924/944/968 forum as well as the 944 turbo forum.

Never heard of STFA. I'll google it but I'm sure that since the car was regularly serviced that the wear won't be an issue. I do believe in preventative maintenance especially when a complicated procedure has already been performed to expose something like this, i.e., oil pan gasket.
