Hey, nothing wrong with that! When I'm sick of lying on my back under a car that is supposed to be a hobby, off to the local independent Porsche mechanic it goes.

Well, I just don't have the resources to weld/cut/fab the manifolds.. I will be doing the end install/wiring/tuning and all the interior work..

Very cool.

Do you have any power goals in mind?

oh yeah info..

The turbo is a Garrett GT2860RS dual ball bearing.. has a .64 a/r and is rated to 350hp... Internal wg.

I'm looking for 280+ to the wheels when fully tuned this summer.

I'm running(have been for the last 2 years) Megasquirt I v3.0 for engine management.

The internals are all stock, including head gasket. If I pop the head gasket this summer which hopefully doesn't happen (until at least october/november) I'll just put it back on stands and start building a new engine with custom pistons/big valves/etc.

the fab work will include:
exhaust manifold
intake manifold
down pipe and full exhaust
charge pipes
front mount intercooler
alternator relocation
serpentine belt conversion

Looks good. Just curious if anyone has done anything extensive like this on the 924 before? Will there be room for a full size radiator.

Yes, there has been extreme development on the 931, its not as common as with the 951 though. You are really on your own with these power goals for a 2.0, you can't turn to Vitesse, Lindsey Racing etc.

With the write tools, info, knowledge and a shop/work space, You don't need vendors. vendors make kits for simple solutions for horsepower and everythings done for you.

You should find a very good power band with this turbo. The good ol' Disco Potato... very popular in the SR20DET engines.

That's part of the reason I went with the DP, great spool up and sufficient top end power.

I would say while there is plenty of development for the 924/931, there are not many 'high hp' 931s..

BassGT probably had the most powerful one and that was a full race car! There was Jokim(?) that dynod around 300 hp on an engine dyno but very little information is available about his car.

Ideola is building a monster 931 as well. Other than those ones I would say average horsepower is sub 200 for 99% of 931s.
