Default Ball joint boot replacement procedure

I did a search, and nothing turned up. One of the ball joint boots on my '92 968 is badly torn; does anybody know the procedure for replacing it? I have the control arm off the car, and the boot looks like it's jammed in there pretty good.

Separate question - are 968 ball joints upgradeable? I'm going to be tracking this car A LOT, and and contemplating upgrading the control arms to the Racers Edge units, but if I could upgrade the ball joints on my stock arms to the 19 mm units, that would be a less expensive option. Thanks.

Call Travis at Rennbay. I got a set from him for my 92 968.

I just rebuilt a ball joint on my turbo, and I think it's the same procedure if you have the aluminum A-arm:
- turn the new boot inside out
- slide it down onto the notch in the post
- flip it back so it sits over the rim of the socket.

Grease it before you close it up if it doesn't have a zerk fitting.
Good luck with your upgrade,

Cory
