Default FS - L 944 arm, R 968 arm

I came across a pair of front lower control arms and the owner didn't realize they were mismatched. We ended up with a great Right side 968 arm, and a bad Left side 87-91 944 arm. Selling both on eBay, no reserve.

Thanks!

Excuse the noob question, but what's the major difference between the 968 and 944? It's hard to tell from those pictures...

As explained in the auctions, the 968 arm's ball joint is held in by folding over the aluminum of the arm itself. They are NOT rebuildable in any way, shape, or form. They do, however, have the mounting tab for the brake cooling ducts (half way along the straight edge) which the 944/951 arms do not have. The 944 arms have ball joints that are rebuildable using the Rennbay (among other) kits.

That's okay. Porsche control arms for the 924/944/968 are pretty confusing. There's the steal 924/early 944 arm, the aluminum 85.5/86 arm, the 87/91 arm, and the 968 arm. Then all of the alloy arms have 2 part #'s, the OE # and the factory replacement #. Then add in the sub-numbers for M030 and M758 cars and the fact that the 87-95 arms are longer than the 86 and earlier arms and totally non-compatible, and you can see how it gets really confusing really fast.

Yup. I know the early 944 control arms are dirt cheap...I believe those were the ones that were compatible with old MkI VW's. I think I'm just going to end up buying the rebuild kit from rennbay.

It's a very nice kit, and what I used on my car.

Right at 3 days left on the auctions now. Still no bids on the 968 arm, just one on the 951 arm. No reserve so the highest bidder gets it regardless of price.
