Default Another call for help on engine cut out

Here was the deal....stock 1983 944 set up for Chumps. When the car is running around the track the engine cuts on/off for a few seconds. It typically happens later in the races and when we slow down the problem stops. Iy can cut out in a corner or on the straights.

Here is what I have done so far:

1. New fuel pump
2. New furl sock
3. New fuel filter (and rechecked after day 1 of racing and it was clean)
4. Drilled hole in gas cap to make sure fuel pressure was venting
5. Tank is full
6. Drained fuel tank to clean

I am thinking that it has to be electrical at this point.

HELP!! I am dying with this

Thank you, Karl

I had the fuel line collapse, too sharp a bend in a non-factory hose at the pump. A fuel pressure gauge in the car would help you zero in on the problem and instruments are not part of the value assessment.

If it isn't fuel next most likely is crank sensors. The connector to the engine wire harness often crumbles.

Sounds similar to what happened to my turbo (intermittently cutting out for a few seconds), but the problem gradually got worse. It ended up being my computer, or in your case something electrical is getting too hot. Try the DME relay first.
