Question 3.0 head on a 2.5?

Will a 3.0 16 valve head work on an early 944 2.5 block? if so what is required? also can the 2.5 be bored over to a 3.0? or re sleeved.

No it won't bolt up. Water passage at the front is different. The 2.5 block can be sleeved to a max of 104mm on the bore with wet sleeves. Don't know if it can be bored out to that with the original cylinders. What are you trying to do? Maybe look into the 944S 16v head? Don't know if the coolant passage is the same or not.

2.5L 16v S head does bolt onto any 2.5L block... This is the best option....if you can find one. BoostFeen had one for sale not to long ago. Not sure if he sold it or not.

I don't even think the valves on a 3.0L head would clear on a 100mm bore
