From what I have read on here, the dash swap is quite an undertaking....Not sure about the other stuff though...

the dme changed in 85.5, to be safe i would keep the dme and respective afms together. i am quite sure they can be swapped in this fashion.

dash swaps are possible but are quite the undertaking. po924s has done the swap and would be more than happy to help you.

carpet should work

i believe the door panels will work (but i am not 100% sure)

I don't think the door panels will line up without the dash swap. I recall seeing a thread here from someone who put a late dash into an early 944 did you try a search?

Clarks has a pretty good dash removal write up, never tried it myself to do the whole deal but have remove enough of the interior to advise being very careful and slow. These cars are old, and plastic get brittle with age.

I have door panels left over from one of my '86, in brown. Could send you one free for test fit just pay shipping.
