those spokes are a very thin design... thank God you're ok.

anyway, the member used Rennlist for profit and knowingly endangered your life.

I would pursue every recourse available. At bare minimum, if no attempt to remedy the deal, send them (at least the broken one) back to him after having pinched a loaf in the box.
There is certainly some foul play somewhere.

You might want to consider warning each and every Rennlist forum. Give us the name of this vendor and contact infor. Send them a link to this thread and each and every thread you start warning Rennlist members. We are a community and will not tolerate preadatory business practices. I would hope they would make good on their defective product.

I personally would like to know who to avoid due to unscrupluious predatory business practices.

Be very careful before you go public on the forums. We see this on occasion and I would strongly reccommend a visit to the mods.
It is not clear at all to me that a "forum member online" has anything to do with Rennlist or our community.
If they are not associated with this forum, use your discretion.

Understood. The forum member is also a member on Rennlist. The wheel supplier is also a well known company specializing in Porsche wheels so I thought that posting here would be acceptable.

Have you given the seller a chance to make this right? This is very important to the outcome. If they are unresponsive, you can get nasty. If they are given a chance to make it right before you get nasty, you may get a set of wheels, or a replacement.

Was the sale as a Vendor or an individual? Either way, how they respond is key.

I'm curious, if they offered you a new replacement wheel, would you drive on them? I can't imagine too many ways that a spoke could shear like that, yet still be (relatively) straight. I'm thinking manufacturing defect.

If I'm following, the wheels were originally taken in trade by the Vendor (V), who sold them to Buyer 1 (B1) as 'repaired'. The wheel broke on B1 and V took it back to fix it. V took a long time to fix it and was hard to work with, so B1 got tired of waiting, bought a new set of wheels and sold the broken set to Buyer 2 (B2) without mentioning that they had broken and been repaired. The wheels then broke on B2, who went back to B1, who blamed V.

WOW!!!!

i sent Wheel Enhancement a friendly email asking about the extent of repairs that may have been done on my wheels. within 10 minutes i got a response by phone they took the time to look up my invoice (~3 years old) which had my phone number on it as with the history of my wheels. they reassured my that my wheels were new car takeoffs and that they do not do any welding.

i couldnt have asked for a better experience from the day i called them about wheel fitment. in times like these it is very nice to know there are companies out there that still care.

Sounds like the seller not the origional vendor is trying to pull a fast one, with a repaint, IMO
