Default 17" Cup 3's Twists upgrade

Picked up some Twist Replicas; "Cup 3 Made in Italy" for my 87' 944na

Front: 17x7.5 ET 52 205/50R 17
Rear: 17x9 ET 47 255/40R 17

Pretty pleased with the new look, and enjoy having the 10" of rubber in the rear! The wheels came with a nice set of Michelin Apline Snow Tires; But,,, it is no longer Winter here in the DC area! -So new rubber is in order and with wider fronts.

Overall i'm very happy, but (like so many others) I am having an issue with Driverside Rear Tire rubbing on the fender occasionally (speed bumps and hard right turns mainly)... I am goin to roll the fender lip, and I need to replace this car's suspension anyway/ get a rear sway bar... So hopefully I can get rid the Tire Rub. (Note: on the passengerside I can slide me fingers around the tire easily, on the driverside my fingers get stuck...) 'Advice Welcome'

Here is a Comparison of my Dark 15" Phonies to my new 17" Cups:

Adjust the rear ride height to level the car, tire rub will go away!

We need a NoVA / DC / SoMD get together one of these days... plenty of us around, need to get together and go for a fun run!

Yea I will be looking into the ride height adjustment this week. It looks like three bolts and seemingly not too difficult...

**If your on facebook we have a Front Engine Porsche Group for the DC Metro Area, that we use to arrange get-togethers; the group is fairly new and we have only had 1-2 outtings,,,, but winter time is quite among car guys. Hopefully we will be more active in the nice weather!

search for the "Porsche 924/44/68 & 28 Club for Northern VA, MD, & DC" group if interested.

I run the same wheels with same size tires on my '87 with no rub.. and in looking at your pics, my car doesn't sit as low in the rear.. so I'm guessing thats part of the issue.

Are you selling your 15s?

If you don't mind me asking, where did you buy the wheels from? How much did you pay?

Just an update: My Rear Driverside wheel was rubbing the fender whenever i would hit bumps, or turn right quickly. And the Gap between the Tire and Fender was noticably different when comparing the Driverside to Passengerside.

By adjusting the 36mm Eccentric Bolt on the Trailing Blade I was able to raise the driverside ride height enough so that the issue no longer exists! Yea!

It takes a lot of strength to mess with each of these bolts (using only hand tools, and with the car barely raised on a jack); but the hardest part by far was finding a 36mm Wrench! Sears to the rescue (*duh); picked up a large adjustable "Beak Jaw Wrench" which worked great.

Thanks for the Tip JohnKoaWood!
Also put on some Rear Koni Adjustable Shocks. Car is Very Happy now, and looks great

Glad to hear the rub is gone!

We need to do a NoVA / SoMD get together / drive one of these days...

Spent most of my weekend out running the roads... was kinda nice running the beltway with 2 951s yesterday... We drove over to Rockville to see the newest Ideola car... very nice day!

That looks great, it really modernizes the 944.
