can penetrating oil damage engine seals?
just wondering as I just sprayed my water pump bolts with pb blaster penetrating oil and I got some on my oil pump area. last time I replaced my belts I also sprayed pb blaster all over the front of the engine. a month later my oil pump starting gushing oil and I had to reaseal it with loctite 574 anarobic sealant.
is it possible that the pb blaster can creep in and dissolve the anarobic loctite sealing hte oil pump.
taking the oil pump out was such a bitch and i don't want to finsih my belt / water pump job now and have the oil pump leak again like last time.
am I just being parnoid?

Burning Brakes
it is possible, anything is possible. even brake kleen can eat a rubber seal or paper seal. but as far as the loctite, might want to bolt 2 steel or aluminum plates together with the loctite 574. let is set. spray the pb. let it set, then take the plates apart after a day and see if the pb actually ate away at it.
