Rusted and gunky fuel injectors
I've been checking my '88 n/a out after it sat for 6 months, and troubleshooting some idle and cranking trouble and decided to pull the fuel injectors out and take a look. I notice some rust on one before getting them out, and then noticed black gunk on all of them. I'm assuming this isn't normal and may be the cause of some of my issues. Should I just replace them, or clean them? What could cause this?
Thanks in advance.

The images are pretty large, so I'll just like to them instead of embedding them.

Looks like someone drove the car in Ohio or Pennsylvania in the winters.... How they look on the outside, doesn't affect how well they work. See if they all click "smartly" when 12v is put to the terminal. If they kind of clunk instead of clicking, swap them for cleaned ones or send them out for cleaning and flow matching.

My idle is very smooth now after I cleaned the flow meter. Ran good before and I can't beleive how much of a difference it makes after I cleaned it. I also cleaned the wiper arm.

Do yourself a favor and send them to Witchhunter. You will not be disappointed. Best service and prices IMO.

Thanks for the tip 944Ross, I'll get that a try.
Also, I noticed what seems to be recent oil on the electrical connections on the back two injectors and around the fuel rail bolts by the intake manifold.
