You must have taken the remark wrong. I simply meant that many of us rennlisters are dangerously uninformed, so your staggering genius is a warm welcome.

Yesterday I had a chance to play a little with my new wheels. Here are some pics.
Yes I am still trying to sell the phone dials. The one in the picture is the curbed one. The other three are perfect.
The rear view reminds me of a quote on here. I can't remember who posted it but It made me laugh when some one said that any tire less than 285 in the rear was
"weak sauce".
Now I see what the ment.
For those in the know, "Turbo" Phone Dials were introduced with the first Turbo 944... in '86.
Feel free to figure out why the offset had to change. 1987's had a standard offset... hence a "late offset".
The offsets changed in 1987 to accomodate the ABS systems which require different geometry.
Using the name "turbo" phone dial wheels to mean "early offset" or "1986 only" is a bit arrogant imho. Phone dials are not limited to 1986. Yes, the Turbo in 1986 came standard with phone dials (early offset, 23.3mm).. but phone dials also came on 1987 and 1988 models, late offset. Perhaps using the word "turbo" at all in the description should be avoided, and simply indicate early/late, 15" or 16".
I have a set of 17" twists (replicas) that I want to replace with phone dials. Tempting.. I must say.
