Default Custom speaker box project

I thought I would start a new post, as I posted my initial plans in the "what have you done to your car today" and it is on different pages.

I wanted to install a rear pair of speakers, as I don't have any provisions for rear speakers anymore, and I wanted to round out the sound. I can't mount the speakers in the side panels because the convertable roof tucks down into the area where stock speakers would have been.
I decided to not only build a speaker box to house them, but I wanted them to look more like that they belonged. I softened the edges, and made a padded armrest as well.
The first pic is during the build phase, the second a completed box, and the last is the first test fit and alignment.
I still have to run the wire, and I need a second set of hands to help me mount them.
It was a lot of work, but also a fun challenge to figure out how to build and mount them. I've built plenty of sub boxes, but this was my first attempt at such a compact setup.

I should have them bolted up, and run the wire this weekend. The amp is already installed, and I have a new sub in the trunk all set to go as well. I could have finished last night if I had an extra set of hands.

If the weather holds, I may actually try to drive it on the weekend. I hear of PLUS digits!!

Forcast says 70F here today, and 72 tomorrow, this is odd for Feb in northern VA!

I washed mine last night, and am planning to polish and wax it tomorrow!

Neat idea, not my taste, but nice clean installation.. I like it!

Good job.

Well I haven't touched the front speakers yet, so I have no idea what they are, but the rest of my system is as follows

JVC headunit KDR710
Kenwood 4" 3ways for the rear speakers
Sony Xplode ZR series 4/3/2 channel amp
Kicker TCVT8 sealed sub box
