Post Anybody have any detailing tips?

I have a zermatt silver 87 N/A with some nice exterior mods (17 inch turbo twists, lowered, turbo rear valence). its a pretty clean car, and looks spectacular at night. but during the day time, i just notice all the little scratches, and that the tires are kind of brownish, and the moldings arent as clean as i would like them to be.

anyways, what types of things do you do to make your cars look so clean. what do you use on the tires. what waxes do you use. any tips out there.

thanks,

CR

Use whitewall tire cleaner and a wire brush to clean the tires. It works on blackwall tires too. I used it to clean engine compartments when I worked for a Chevy dealer. Spray it on, wait five minutes and hose it off. Don't use it on upholstery. It's too harsh for fabric and will weaken the stiching. Most scratches can be removed with a buffer if they don't go all the way through the paint. The mouldings on my 924S are black. If they didn't look good I would buy a spray can of semi-gloss black and repaint them. If your's are chrome there isn't much you can do. The chrome is annodized to the aluminum and will wash off from acid rain or constant washing. If you clean them with steel wool or scotchbrite you should spray a clearcoat on them to seal them from corrosion.
