What transmission oil should I use?

I'll probably be changing it on Tuesday so I need to know what to go pick up tommorow. Oh, and I don't know if this matters or not, but I live around Chicago so it's going to be getting pretty cold. Don't know if that matters with trans. oil like it does with motor oil though.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I use Redline MTL. Some people use Redline MTL 90. Some people use the GL5 rated Redline gear lube (75W90 or 75W90NS if you don't have an LSD).
There is some debate over which is better, the GL4 rated fluid or the GL5 rated fluid. Personally I would use the GL4 rated MTL unless you have an LSD.
The 911 guys like Swepco for the 915, but that doesn't really apply to you.
I have a friend who has had good luck with Mobil 1 in his Acura Integra Type R.

My mech swears by Mobil 1. When I did mine (wheel on) I used a long piece of rubber fuel line as a funnel with a pan under the fill plug.
Just use a little patience. <img src="graemlins/bigok.gif" border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" />
Cold weather? After I read to double clutch 1st thing in the morning when it's cold out, shifting became much easier.

I changed over to Redline 75W90NS in my NA (no LSD) and it made a significant improvement in cold weather...I can actually get into second gear now when it's stone cold!!

A helpful tip, courtesy of Hans... remember to be sure you can loosen the _fill_ plug before you pull the drain plug. An empty transaxle is not a good thing.
ISTR that the owner's manual on the non-LSD 944's call for GL4, but it's been a few years. I am sure that the manual gives the spec for both type and quantity. I think it was Skip who commented that the GL5 may cause corrosion on brass synchro parts if it's used where it's not called for specifically.
Jim, who spent some fun time with this stuff this weekend on the 'baru... dam', that GL5 stinks!
