Post floor mats

Ive got burgundy interior but am looking at the Porsche embroidered mats you see in Performance Products and so forth that are also "burgundy" as they call it (among many other colors they have). Does the color match the 1986 Porsche 951 burgundy or is it just a close approximation. I want to order them b/c Ive got black mats with the big PORSCHE on them that look sort of funny in an otherwise burgundy interior. I asked PP once if it was an exact match and the guy said he couldnt guarantee it which really sounded like "I have no idea if its the same burgundy."

I know I could order them and just send them back if I dont like them, but Id rather know up front.

I got a set of lloyd's mats from vertex auto. Very good match on my 88 burgundy. they even wrote turbo on there in the correct script in silver to pic up the outside color. good price, too.

I ordered the P.P. burgundy mats for my 85.5, they match perfect. Plus I believe they're on Spring sale now (15% off). Script is "Porsche" in black.

UD,

I've got the exact same burg. mats and they are a perfect match. However, I don't like the foam backing of the mats, and after 2 yrs, the heel area near the gas pedal is starting to show some wear. If I did it again, I would go with a set of Lloyd's.

Anyone have those metal floor mats? Do they make them for our cars?

My girlfriend recently gave me a set of Lloyd's heavyweight mats (brown in color). These are the heaviest you can get....they are also sold in Performance Products.

Although the do not have the Porsche logo, the mats really look great. The color is a pretty close match to my Saddle Brown. (Any discrepancy is probably because the original Saddle Brown has changed color tone a bit...and now appears almost burgundy in places.) And they are so heavy, you don't really need to fasten them to the floor. I plan on getting a matching Lloyd's mat for the rear deck, too.

A fun project would be to embroider the "PORSCHE" logo into a set of heavyweight Lloyd's mats. It should be possible. Has anyone ever done anything like this?

I wanted to get some cheapo plastic rubber mats to cover the ones I have in the car. (Yes thats floor mats to cover floor mats.. I want the car to stay as nice as she is.)

Does anyone know if I can get something cheaply from someplace such as walmart or the like?

Also, on my driver side mat, it attaches to a clip above the dummy pedal but it has what looks to be a mounting point on the right hand side about 2 inches in from the seat. There is no place to attach the mat. Am I missing something or do I just have the wrong mats?
