Default Reference sensor connectors..

Have you experienced a disintegrated connector issue on an otherwise good reference sensor? Well, both of mine did while replacing vacuum and coolant lines.

So... you can go to 944online and pay $20.00 each for the connector and then wait for them to refund your shipping (like $19.00, will refund you the difference if it will fit in a USPS box, cost $6) for a whopping total of nearly $60...

Or.... you can go to EFI express, pay almost half the price and $6 shipping without waiting for a refund...

Just slip your undamaged pins into the connector and tada! fixed...or buy the proper tool and crimp the new connectors on, you just saved at least $80-100 or more depending if you used the BMW PN or not...

Which route do you think I went?

I managed to get on the group buy that JOKA did last year.

However, I had the car running for quite some time with the seperated pins simply slipped into the plug.

944online wanted to charge $6 to mail one meter of washer hose, pelican shipped it for $2, and the hose wash even cheaper with pelican...

Very nice indeed.. not 100% but an option above replacing the sensors due to a crumbled plug!

In fact, this exact "repair" is how I came to find my source on the connectors...

Want to guess where Ian gets his connector sets from? Funny how both links are the exact same parts, including missing the same bits of the correct setup!

The connectors shown use a seal, the pins are correct, but those pins are designed to crimp onto the seals...

Other small differences, but very good info to post up!

No problem. As I dive more and more into this (and rennlist), you will start seeing areas that I look to save a few dollars here and there. I try to find pieces that will save me (and whomever) a little bit of cash in comparison to the wads we spend on other necessary items. Any little bit helps, especially when you are into a project that has way blown your budget and you find that you will need several more small parts. It seems every time I turn a wrench on this car its costing another hundred..LOL

But, hey, we dont do it because of the investment, we do it for the love of these cars. In the end, its only money, it only matters when you dont have any
