I live in Femont too, I take my car to Fremont Foreign Auto Repair. their adress is 444 mowry ave. phone# 793-6067. the guy there knows a lot about 944s. i think he is a good mechanic.

I can only suggest A. Bauer in Oakland. Don't go down there often enough to try out Fremont. If you can do Mountain View, there are several that I can recommend. there is also a site called babblers.org created by an obvious 986 fan who might have more info... don't forget post your info for other porsche-philes. good info can be hard to come by.
