Default 951 Brakes on an NA

I have been looking on the forums and found a few thing but not really the answer I am looking for.

I have an 88 NA and alot of extra 88 951 parts hanging around and had this crazy idea of taking the new control arms, spindles, rotors and Calipers and putting them on the NA. I have the 951 master cylinder and new valve.

But what about the rear? Will I need to change anything other than the rotors in the rear?

You can swap it all out. However in the not so distant future there will be adapters to swap the Turbo brakes and rotors right onto the NA spindles

xschop - will those adapters work for early offset suspensions as well? I would love to be able to put '86 951 calipers/rotors on my 924S.

Yes, although I despise 86T spindles and hubs. Besides being able to put Turbo calipers/rotors on the NA, the whole point is to get rid of the rear mounted rotor and 86T hub/spindle....which are more prone to break.

I heard that you can fit turbo front calipers under 15" phonedials that have 951 part numbers .Is this true ??? I'm positive that the rear ones fit under 15's but not sure about the front. I can get some turbo calipers cheap but i don't want to change the wheels.

But what about the rear? Will I need to change anything other than the rotors in the rear?
only the rotors in the rear.

I just happen to have some 15 phonies left over from the V8 swap(non turbo car), I'll check if they can take a spacer, it's the inner curvature that matters interferes. The adapters I will build will rotate the turbo caliper down some for the 299mm turbo rotors and hug them so tight. I'm also going to mock up 2 other different Wilwood kits in the next week or two.....Think inexpensive Cayenne rotor....330 x 32mm

Just buy a 944s2 and you will have turbo brakes and body panels, yet still have an NA

I heard the S2's are getting rare nowadays. Besides, even the 928GTS rotors which are high dollar are small compared to the 955 rotors hehe. I'll start a new thread over on hybrids and document the first set-up. The brand new 951 rotors just showed so the games will commence.

The turbo spindles will not work with NA shocks in the front.

In the rear there are some thick washer spacers that have to be in place where the calipers mount for the turbo ones to work.

Yeah, I have been looking for an S2 and not a Conv.

Does not have to be perfect, I enjoy working on my 2. Was looking at one Josh had but running 80 on 285 and timing belt went and you know the story from there.

Turbo spindles WILL work with 86T struts and 87-up NA struts.

To white924S....Why don't you just get an inexpensive set of 87-up NA spindles/hubs? That's the whole reason why I'm making the adapters, because the 86T spindle breaks easily at the outer bearing land when bigger brakes/wheels are added. Also you are going to have to slot your strut mount holes (+5mm) anyways if you are sticking on 86T spindles.

That would be great...

I just got my set of billet 7mm spacers for the 928 kit I'm working on. I'll try those on this set-up first and see if the NA phonies will fit over these Turbo brakes spaced out that much. Has anyone else tried this?

298 turbo rotor
-282 NA rotor
16mm/2 = 8mm difference.

The NA calp bridges are thicker than the Brembo bridges. So the actual height increase on the larger 298mm rotor may not be that much more, add some wheel spacers and the NA phonies just may be a hit...

When building adapters I only trust The dims off BRAND NEW rotors, all the spec sheets are off some on heigth and thickness......

I will compile all the info here....
