Uh, I'm the oldest - 38 this Tuesday. I just like to feel young like you guys

I work for a Consulting Company, and head the group that does email installs and web site development for our clients - everything from the YMCA to the Casinos on AC. Gotta like the variety at least

Happy Birthday Tom, there seem to be quite a few older than us though (I'll be 38 the following Tuesday).

My turn.

My parents named me John. Oh, and I live west of Boston right down the pike in Shrewsbury. Hey Griff we gotta get together some time for lunch and check out each others cars. Turned 40 in February. I am a CPA. Thats Certified Public Accountant, not Cleaning, Pressing, and Alterations. I am currently working for a Consumer Products manufacturer waiting to see what happens when we get bought out. Roll with the punches. I bought my car 2 Decembers ago after a year of arguing, I mean objective discussions with my wife about buying a Porsche. A while before that I was thinking about replacing my car at the time and saw the front cover of a Road & Track that said our favorite sports cars for under $20k I opened it up and saw a 79 911SC and a raging madness took over my life from that point on. I thought, does it make sense to spend this kind of $$ on an 80k mile car. After a lot of research I new, Yes, it makes perfect sense. After about a year I started looking at 944's and started researching the good and bad betweem S2's and turbo's. I was still talking to my wife about it all the while and she kept giving me the hate faces. She finally said Ok against her will one December, but said not till Spring. I decied I wanted a turbo with a recent clutch, belts, and water pump.I kept looking and found an Alpine 86 Turbo with LSD and white fuchs with 28k miles on it for the price of an 80k mile car. I told her I have to jump on this, as long as it checks out OK. It needed a clutch and the belts and pump were well overdue. I made an offer subject to an inspection. After confirming what the work was going to cost I decided against it. Tried 2 more 80k mile cars. No like. Called back the white turbo, offered $1k less considering what it needed, he said OK!! Now its my daily driver, except for the $500 truck I bought for the winter. I just have to figure ought why it keeps dying on me, and I can say I am a psuedo Porsche mechanic. My neighbors look at me like I have two heads when I emerge from under my car all black and greasy. Went to the track last year for the first time. Hooked for life. I am in the middle of redoing a bathroom and I WANT TO FINISH THIS DAM BATHROOM AND GET READY FOR THE TRACK!!!! Sorry for yelling.

Well if we're showing pictures of other cars, I've got this one lying round. Here's a picture of me on the way to a highschool dance. My dad bought this 1975 (3spd) CJ5 for $200 and sold it for $400 after ten years. It was the bomb diggity. I haven't gotten a chick since.

This should get me "senior" status under my name! Hope John doesn't set up a category "senior citizen"

Turned 40 last year! CPA/Atty or Atty/CPA.

Trust me on the insurance stuff!

Bought the S2 for my 40th, the Legend Coupe for my 35th, the RX7 convertible for my 30th, and the RX7 coupe for my 25th, the Firebird Convertible for my 15th. Do you see a trend here? That doesn't count about 30 cars in between and before.

Here is the car before the boxster "crabs" were put on.

OK, if we are going to post pictures of other cars, here is one of me with long hair and an old Elva or something at Road Atlanta:

And here is what happens when some old man comes totally into your lane and hits your Scirocco head on while you are both traveling at about 55mph:

Sorry about the size.

Hey guys. I know we've been through this a couple of times, but I'll go again. My name is Rich and I'm a full time student at salisbury university on marylands stinky eastern shore. In the summer this town smells of chicken **** because of all of the chicken farms and the purdue plant in salisbury. I just recently turned 23 and will be a senior after this semester which ends in exactly 10 days. I'm studying MIS (information systems management) which is more or less computer science lite with some business mixed in. If any of you remember my story of the ******* teacher that pushed me out of my seat when I fell asleep in his class, I'll let you all know that I have the highest grade in any of his classes (I think I'm pushing 107% after the curves he puts on the exams) and he absolutely hates it. Anyways, I have gym class I have to leave for in a couple of minutes, but here is a picture I took of myself...well...just a second ago:

Oh...I may get my car running this afternoon...maybe not. I'll keep you all updated. I also got iceshark's wiring kit, lights, bulbs, and regulator, and the kit looks top notch...if my car is running this weekend, I'm going to put the headlights and wiring kit in on sunday, and photo document the procedure for anybody else interested in doing the same thing. Gotta run...peace.

Man I never thought I would be the old man in a group. I'm 46 which puts me 2 weeks younger than the planet I guess. Hey who cares, I drive a Porsche and its' as much fun today as it was when I first got one at age 30. Back then it was a brand new 951, Guards red with phone dials. What a blast. I just had to have it back so after 10 years off I just bought another. Sweet. Trust me there is no substitute.

Wow Bob, I thought I was never going to post. I didn't want to be the old man ... Yes there are us old kids on this board. We do have similar tasts.

Here's a picture of me purchasing my second 86 Reg/black 951. It is now turned into a track/street car. The 3rd one is in the garage. It will remain visibly stock. I found out I like red.

Hey, I'm only 1.53 hours from you. I live in Modesto, Ca. I Project Manage computer network installs. ( I was just there on Friday, did you see me? ). I was a mechanic for the first 10+ years so I do my own work. Already had the first car torn apart to the last bolt. It was totaled 5 weeks after I purchased it. I spent the last 15 years or so fiddleing with computers and networks.

Here's my Rennlist Member web site for those of you that are just plain bored. I need to update this thing.

What's this about the 'old kid' stuff?
Maybe I get the prize, the 1950 in my screen name refers to the year I was born/hatched.
Anyways, I'm a senior network operations specialist for the 'pin drop' long distance telephone company working the graveyard shift. That brown thing behind me is a Nortel DMS 250 that I coax/cajole/plead/threaten 40 hours a week so your phones ring.

I purchased my 87 951 in February this year and to date it's cost my about a grand in needed maintenance as well as a big a** speeding ticket the price of which to be determined by some stern faced judge come month's end.

And just like that 'old geezer' in the Boxster commercial, I think I'm going driving (gently) on this fine Sunday. That is if the roads aren't choked with the likes of this:

Sorry, couldn't resist that last one...

Manning,

Sorry for the late reply - I used to eat at Laughing Planet quite a bit, but didn't hang around there much this last semester... how familiar are you with Bloomington? Ever try Siam House? If you are going to be in town soon, drop me a mail - we'll get lunch

Lincoln Ozawa = me. I'm 21. I own my own company, selling car parts online (check signature). I also work at an upperclass restaurant at the Venetian in Las Vegas in pastry. Though, I think in about 3 months, I won't have to work a normal 40 hour job. After that, I'm going back to school for a major of some sort...

Picture? No...
