Derek - Congrats on the new job! And the 951 deal! <img border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" title="" src="graemlins/bigok.gif" />
In MA I'm pretty sure you're gonna get stuck with paying the sales tax for the book value... I think they only allow gifts between family members... Still, a 951 for the price of the tax... H*LL of a DEAL!!!
Maybe I can get a look at it when I come up to borrow that stuff...

Race Car
In California you can lien sale the car. The easiest way is to charge for storage fees. You can legally start a lien sale at an impound after 7 days and charge storage for 30 days. During the process, you will have to send certified mail to every previous registered owner, lien holder, and interested parties. They have 30 days to respond and pay the lien to pick up the vehicle. After 30 days, then the lien sale becomes final and you can take that paperwork to register the vehicle. It supersedes the original title. On more expensive vehicles, I think you will have to wait a longer period of time and usually called the long lien. I think 90 days has to go by before you legally own the vehicle. At least, that is how it works here in California.
