Well, they didn't make 944S's in 90, so if the year's right then it's definitely an S2. Also, it has the Turbo/S2 front clip and rear valence. Probably just a typo or something.

It's an S2, it says a 3 liter engine, it has the 951/S2 front end, and there is an 944 S2 plate on the rear end.
Looks a pretty nice vehicle.

Check the VIN, but it looks ok to me.

thanks a lot, what about the odometer change?..could that be a problem due to the time the owner spend driving it with a broken odometer??..i might not be able to accurately tell when the timing belt needs to be changed.

I ran the vin, and everything checked out ok, except the the odometer had been replaced. Could that be a problem in accurately figuring when I need to change the timing belt due to the fact that the owner might have driven it with the odometer broken for who knows how long??

in case the odometer has been out of order, I wouldn't buy the car, definatelly not!
now there is no certain proof about the miles. even if with the service booklet is still there.
So watch out.

He is being honest about the odometer so probably has nothing to hide. Give him a call and if your really serious try to get a rennlister to look it over. The car looks to be in very good shape and the price is very nice.

You're going to change the belts and the tensioner pad when you get it anyway, right? If so, get it checked out by a good mechanic and go for it. I worry less about miles than good maintenance.

On one of the photos of the service booklet, why does it say the delivery inspection took place in 1993? Am I missing something here, or did it just take 3 years to sell?

Beautiful car, although the interior appears to be Linen, not Beige like the ad says.
