Lance, we have all cut ramps like that at one time or another. I do think your quick thinking may have saved not only you two but the car, and thankfully not having to pay for the truck's damage!

I'm personally known as being perpetually late, but I don't care. If I see I'm going to overshoot a ramp, I go ahead and overshoot it. Not worth it. But you see that now, and that's what's important.

Because the shock towers are okay I feel confident you can rebuild her, and make her stronger...faster...than before!

Just remember driving in the rain +being in a hurry +overshooting a ramp then trying to take it anyway = disaster.

I just hope many of us can learn from your mistake!

Good luck, and keep us informed when you know.

Hey man! That's a compliment!!!! It means you've been driving it like it was meant to be driven!

How your wife with the whole situation. I know the females in my family would **** a brick if they saw me bring home a "project" like that..

Lance, it's because of your attitude; you adjusted it yourself, and we are so glad you are alive!

Thanks Julie.
I gotta say, these cars are tanks, that was quite an impact we took and the damage I think is minimal considering.
Also for anyone wondering about the strength of Milla Millia after market wheels, that wheel took almost all the impact and it did not even bend or crack. it chipped the edge and scuffed about 1/4 of metal off the face but it held up.

Lance - I'll bet you it is bent. Take it to a tire shop and see how badly it's unbalanced. (You won't be able to tell visually) "Greens" in richmond charges $140 per wheel. You can run my Fuchs if you want to wait on restoration...

K27,

Glad to hear you are okay. Rainy days and slow/stopped vehicles suck. I had to run out of the road about 2 months ago in my Saturn as my neighbor was dead stopped in a blind corner looking at turkeys in a field. No blinker, no flashers, nothing. It would have been a pretty good hit if I'd done that, so yes, you made the right decision with the wall.

Good luck on the rebuild!!! And I'm glad that this community is so strong and willing to help out. This is a great place...now I gotta find a spare $20 and join....

Cheers!

Hi Lance,
Wow, I'm sorry to hear about what happened! I haven't read through all 4 pages of this thread, but if you're looking for a shop, call Proline Collision at 987-2533. Owners name is Chris Jehnichen, and he does good work. Shop is located in North Van, just off Marine Drive.

?!?!?!?

I've been quoted $250 USD for a used front bumper covers that have no damage. After painting it, it would look new.

Id that $675 USD? Taxes? Shipping? Painted?

(I'm looking for a new one too)

I have a tech procedure that shows how to refinish wheels if you need it. Thats assuming that your wheel is just scuffed up and not actually bent.
