Post Got a Turbo!!!!

Well guys,
I broke down and got myself an 86 951. It has 118,xxx on the clock and will need belts in about 13,000 according to the service records. It is in what I would like to say, in the range of middle to excellent shape, as there are some exterior things (small parts of the paint need touched up, but I have the factory touch up paint). The interior is flawless and the engine bay is almost clean. I didn't take it for a PPI (I know, not the best move in the world), but the records are very extensive, as I am scanning them in to the computer right now (23 pages of fun.) I will get pictures tomorrow, but all I can say is Boost is F***ing awesome.

Justin,

Enjoy the boost. There's nothing quite like it.

Perry, I am definately bringing it to the Fest. Now I just need to know what I can do with the supension to make it corner even better than it does. I fear that boost is going to be an expensive drug though. I hear that you can never have enough.

Congrats Justin, where did you buy it from? There was one in Indy that's Garnett Red that I had looked at. If that's the car you got a nice one.

I bought it from a guy in Columbus. He originally wanted 7500 for it, but I got him down to 7000. All in all, I think I got a lot more car than I should have for the money.

Justin

If the car is stock, I would avoid modifying it until you've had it for a while and everything else seems sorted out. Lots of unnecessary repairs stem from modifying 951s and end up costing more than you need to pay when you've just bought a car.

Cool

Congrats, Justin! Looking forward to seeing her at the Fest! Have you given any thought to trying a Drivers Ed? Now is the time to apply for one before they all sell out. Putnam Park is a great track for a first timer, and Mid-Ohio is a great facility too. You will find that the stock 951 is an extremely competent machine for it, even stock.

Awesome Justin. If you still have my number, give me a call. I'd like to come see the car. I'll also give you a ride in my so you can feel the differance in suspensions.

Congrats on the booster!! What are you doing with your old car?
As far as suspension, the concensus here for a street/autox car is:
1. Koni Yellows f&r
2. Weltmeister 250# springs
3. 28mm torsion bars
4. M030 sway bars f&r
5. KLA strut bar (optional, but it's a nice piece.)

Good luck with the car and , oh yeah, I'm jealous as hell.
