Post PET CD Hardlock error

I have an original PET CD on loan but after I installed it it says that there is a hardlock error 304. Is there a work around for this problem ? DOes there need to be a hardware attachment of some kind to the PC ?

It also wanted to install at 1280x1024 which is not ideal on my monitor, anyone know if it can run at a lower resolution ?

Sounds like it requires a hardware key, probably a dongle that plugs into the parallel port on your computer. The version of 3D Studio Viz we use at work requires one, as did an older rev of a simulation package. Not sure how to work around it, maybe a registry hack?

manning is correct, the dealer was required to keep a unlocking tool on the parallel/serial port on their computer in order to use the pet. many other car companies also require something seemlier, ie Audi, VW. try this hack.

far as I know, there is nothing you can do about the res. the pet software is fixed to run at 1280*1024 or higher. the only opinion I see, it to set up a virtual res at 1280*1024.

if you run a lower resolution the screen will be too big and you won't see all of what's on PET

I don't have a pet. I thought about getting a dog but I changed my mind.

Change the subject please.

Pete,

This is a really old thread that somehow made it back up to the top. Why not just lock it or ditch it.
